December 2020 Games Update

UABC Families,

I hope this email finds you and your families well.

The UABC Board of Directors conducted a virtual meeting this week to discuss the topic of away games for our teams between November 25 and December 17. We considered many factors when making this decision, including the most recent medical data.

At this time, we are going to ask our 12 UABC teams to pause all games (home and away) through December 17.

We did not come to this decision lightly, but it is ultimately what we determined to be the most prudent course of action.

We will have access to the elementary schools to practice beginning on Monday, November 30th. We are excited that our players will be able to practice 2-3 times per week as they have been throughout the early part of the season. Basketball is a skill based game and great players are made in practice. Games are certainly fun and have a role in player development, but access to gyms for practice is absolutely crucial.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support.
All of our discussions with other programs, school districts, and medical professionals have centered around having a season, not cancelling a season. We want to find a safe way for the boys to play basketball.
